29x - I have some good news and some bad news.

One of our party has had to drop out - with this 24 stone of fun no longer part of the equation, there is probably no need for you to go to the expense of strengthening the floor boards.

The bad news is - the remaining party will still have a requirement for the door jams to be greased and the fidge to be full.

Looking forward to it!

My room doesn't have a fidge either, but according to the reviews both spit & sawdust are free.

Anybody familiar with the train arrangements at Brum?
Where's the station handiest to the airport and what sort of transfer time do I need to allow myself?
Want to buy tickets off trainline.

Did this journey for the QF a couple of years ago. There's a station at Brum airport (Birmingham International) and trains direct to Northampton. Took just under an hour IIRC.

Takes about 20mins from landing to the airport station I think.

Anybody planning to use the train to Northampton should note that London Midland who provide the majority/all of services to Northampton are currently experiencing fairly severe staff shortages which is causing the cancellation of a fair few trains most days (30+) especially in the Birmingham area. For this reason and also to allow for delays in plane arrivals the any time off peak ticket might be a better bet than the cheapest off peak single which is for a specified train only.
