Clermont messed up. Brynes kick was blocked in the goal area and both James and a Saracens player went to catch the ball. Neither did and on the way down James arm knocked the ball over the dead ball line. Owens gave him a yellow and pen try.

I've seen poor ref decisions at all levels of rugby but that was ludicrous....
