Re: World Cup 2015 Tickets
Correct and an excellent example of why Scotland must vote yes, the UK has become totally centred on London, every other part of the country is lagging hugely behind in terms of salaries, job availability, house prices, access to travel, you name it, London is the name of the game.Russ wrote:These are the market rates in England to be frankNeill_M wrote:Tickets are very expensive. Given that is only going to go one way then in the words of legendary Scottish post-punk pop band Orange juice, Rip it up & start again, I said, Rip it up & start again.
New start for Scotland, build your own future. Vote yes.
Oh dear silly me, wrong thread. Oh well.

Hmmm... didn't think about going to one of the games in Brighton. It could be a good day out (although Ireland v Canada clashes with S Africa v Japan so it would have to be USA v Samoa)
I've just applied for tickets for the 2 Ireland games in London and the Ireland v Canada game in Cardiff. Couldn't be arsed with another trip to Cardiff for the Ireland v France game as well.

Re: World Cup 2015 Tickets
Application submitted.
Ireland v Canada, Italy and France + Pool Winner QF, SF and Final.
All category D tickets. Applied for kids tickets for the pool games, so we will see how that goes.
The cost of the tickets isn't so much my concern as paying for transport and accommodation should I actually get some tickets.
I guess it'll likely be a Ferry to Scotland + camping.

Fair number of those Irish tickets already gone Russ, seriously daft having the Romanian match in Wembley instead of the French or Italian oneRuss wrote:You'll get those easilyshamalicious wrote:Ire v France or Italy. Not optimistic about my chances!

Current list of oversubscribed games, some surprising ones:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/29249771
These seven matches have already gone to ballot as of 18 September
19 September
South Africa v Japan Brighton Community Stadium
20 September
Samoa v USA Brighton Community Stadium
26 September
England v Wales Twickenham
3 October
England v Australia Twickenham
10 October
England v Russia or Uruguay Manchester City Stadium
11 October
Italy v Romania Sandy Park (Exeter)
31 October
Final Twickenham
Eighteen games are still rated as having good availability - these include seven matches at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, the only venue outside England.
Pool matches involving the other Home Nations have generated mixed demand from supporters.
Availability is limited for three of Scotland's pool games - but still good for the final and potentially crucial fixture against Samoa.
There is still good availability for two of Wales' matches and two of Ireland's pool games.
Despite being the second-largest venue with a capacity of 82,000, Twickenham plays host to three of the balloted matches.
Only one of 10 fixtures at the national rugby stadium (the pool game between France and Italy) is still showing "good availability".

Re: World Cup 2015 Tickets
Brighton are the cheapest tickets in the south east, so were always going to be oversubscribed - they will get my subscription next week too!
Italy v Romania is an interesting one, but Sandy Park is tiny and again in a hugely populated area filled with rugby fans
Poor show from the Welsh as usual

Re: World Cup 2015 Tickets
I've put in a request for the USA v Samoa in Brighton too.
The stadium there isn't tiny (30k) so interesting that both games are oversubscribed.
I wonder if it is because there are lots of things to do in Brighton so people are planning to make a day of it.
Compared this to Stadium MK - also capacity 30k. There is absolutely feck all to do in Milton Keynes so less incentive for a neutral to see a game there.

Re: World Cup 2015 Tickets
Bug ger - why's everyone going for the 2 games we plan on going to in Brighton ? Going to go over anyway for a long weekend, tickets or no tickets, and any willing to drink tinnies outside the ground and wait until halftime when we'll hopefully get half price tickets off the touts

I've put in for Ireland v Canada (Cardiff), Ireland v Italy (Olympic Stadium), Ireland v Romania (Wembley) and USA v Samoa (Brighton).
The Ireland v Canada and Ireland v Romania games have good availability. Ireland v Italy and USA v Samoa are going to ballot.
