Re: Emerging Ireland
Big Licence the loosehead covering tighthead, while James Cronin who is converting to a tighthead is starting at loosehead. Logic.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

I suspect Clarke will be implementing a predetermined game plan from D4.therealspratt wrote: So Taggart starts, very interesting. Starting to suspect Clive Ross may not be Clarke's call.

Re: Emerging Ireland
Interesting just the same, from memory at least two of his first three Ulster appearances were at TH yet when we were scraping around for a TH towards the end of the season, not one minute did he play at TH ...........damn few at LH either.ruckover wrote:Big Licence the loosehead covering tighthead, while James Cronin who is converting to a tighthead is starting at loosehead. NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Did Big Licence not take on Healy on one of his first outings and did all right ?BaggyTrousers wrote:Interesting just the same, from memory at least two of his first three Ulster appearances were at TH yet when we were scraping around for a TH towards the end of the season, not one minute did he play at TH ...........damn few at LH either.ruckover wrote:Big Licence the loosehead covering tighthead, while James Cronin who is converting to a tighthead is starting at loosehead. Re: Emerging Ireland
Came on for Lutton at the Pro12 Semi, and immediately steadied the scrum. He may be a geniune ambiscrumptious option- he's compact, similar build to a french tighthead.
Anyways, then MA pressed the self-destruct button with the subs.....

Exterminate all rational thought
Re: Emerging Ireland
Yes his first few appearances were on the TH side, the fans were cautiously optimistic that he could have the potential to do a job there, and then he revealed in an interview that he'd never played on the tight before and considered himself a loosie.
I'd prefer if he were left alone to master the Loosehead side, and Lutton can help us on the tight. Bross as a backup there and as far as I know Kyle McCall is not transferring to hooker any more and should be viewed as a prop of some sort.

Re: Emerging Ireland
Taggart looked really rather solid today, I'd say he's a good bet for making the bench next season, hit his rucks well and generally looked busy, maybe not the biggest carrier but did his share and presented the ball quickly enough!
