Wouldn't risk our best fullback

You want to rest Payne after one match?

I think he's earned it.

No Henry judging by the fact that Reidy was trotted for media today along with Cave and Payne

So from reading the paper reports there is the feeling, except in the Paper of Record, that we are going to go about our attempted 5 pointer with a centre partnership that hasn't played together in over 7 months. What is more if Cave/Payne play in the centre that means Gilroy to FB, a position he is quite frankly poor in.

God almighty.

Yet it is repeatedly stated on these threads that, categorically, the IRFU don't interfere in European selections...

God almighty.
Payne said it was great to be able to get through a full 80-plus minutes last weekend since being off for so long.
“Foot was all good but it has been for a while,” he revealed, adding: “There were a few other issues we had coming back in the rehab, but everything is good as gold now.

“The result was disappointing and it is always good to get out on the rugby field again having been out for so long.”

Payne is expected to be one of several Ulster players named in Joe Schmidt’s Ireland squad ahead of the Six Nations later today.

He has played at centre in the green jersey, but start for Ulster last week at fullback.

Is there the chance he could be considered in the same role for Ireland?

“There has been no talk whatsoever about that,” said Payne.

“Joe (Schmidt) keeps his distance. I will worry about those sorts of things if I am lucky to get picked.”
Buck quite frankly nothing surprises me any more and to be honest I won't find any fecks to give if Payne gets moved to Leinster, Munster or Connacht as the amount of fecking around to accommodate a first class 15 in a position he is adequate but wasted in is really getting on my mammaries
“That made me feel very special and underlined to me that Ulster is more than a team, it is a community and a rugby family"

I concur Rooster, wholeheartedly so at this stage. He and Sailli would make a great centre partnership in Turnipstan.

Never mind, team doesn't pick itself.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

Surely we've learnt our lesson with regards to dicking around with team selections?

Doesn't sound good :banghead:

My guess:
McCall, Herring, Lutton
Stevenson, VDM
Diack, Wilson, Reidy

Pienaar, Jackson

Gilroy, Cave, Payne, Trimble, Ludik

Nowhere near what I want to see though!
