Given the celebrations take usually at least 45 seconds the kicker really doesnt have a lot of time

Id like to see the clock stopped for all kicks at goal

Extra 30 seconds to get the tee on and if the kicker had just run the length of the pitch to score to give him a bit of time to get breath back

Parra's screw up in 15/16 was down to the fact the T14 and SDC have different rules for a getting a LBP. Within 7 points in SDC, 5 points in T14. They were trailing by 9 at the time! Know the rules people

Looking like a three horse race in the T14 this year (La Rochelle, Montpellier and Racing 92). Reward for finishing top 2 is going straight to the playoff semi finals and not playing in the 1st round. Fixed venue for the semi finals (this year - Lyon).

Clermont are missing Jonno. Ruan is absolutely loving France.

Penalties are 60 seconds from the time you indicate you are kicking at goal.

Reckon Clermont will be scrapping the mini countdown clock in the corner which ruan was watching. If it wasn't there he would probably would have taken it earlier.

Exactly. You can hardly expect to have a clock ticking down and supposed to put pressure on a kicker and not expect someone to use it to their advantage. If there was no clock it wouldn't have happened. Instead the master has a wee picnic then calmly pisses all over their chips.

Thanks Merv, Mrs Trousers is a poor seadog so we are going to go Belfast Liverpool night sailing so she can get her head down and with 2 dogs, one of whom is highly strung & a crap traveller who will hopefully sleep, then the chunnel to Calais & take a good few days going down, no rush, a few stops in France & a couple in Spain, make a wee holiday of it

Mind you I think I will be going down the Atlantic coast route, fancy a couple of nights in the Rioja, maybe stock up with a few treats.

Wise choice. Did a run from Spain with 2 rescue dogs for my daughter this time last year. Nice smooth journey through Spain and France staying in dog friendly hotels. One of them had been in kennels for 5 years but took it in his stride! Got the ferry from Cherbourg to Dublin. Horrendous! Mrs BM spent the best part of the 18 hour journey in her bunk with a boke bag. Had to be towed into Dublin harbour by tugs because the sea was so rough. Says she's never getting into another boat unless she can see land on the other side

The rule needs changing. I don’t want to pay to watch players drinking water or do whatever the hell it was that Biggar used to get up to.

Merv, if you have details of hotels where you stayed I'd like to take a look, hard to beat a recommendation if any were better than others.

Not many would have had the stones to do it. Entirely unedifying but ould Ruan is as daft as a fox.

I too would follow Russ's idea, I've never seen any good reason why the clock should run when kicks are being taken ..................... but the TV folk (not FOLK) would have kittens, it could add 10-15 minutes game time.

Neither can I really see any reason that the 60 seconds for a penalty attempt should not be enough for a conversion, when a penalty is awarded you have no idea whether a kick will happen, when a try is scored the biy with the tee should be on his way immediately.
