I find the strategy odd:

We are already in an overwhelmingly uncompetitive league to the point we are becoming undercooked / unprepared for physical teams. Player management could be done at anytime. So what does the IRFU manufacture? Weakened sides to ensure home wins (nigh on) and miss out on actual competitive games. Poor.

To be fair UR with the injuries would have little further options, but the overall point stands.

Thoughts - interesting to see Roberts getting another look in from the bench. TOT will have his work cut out with Buckley.

Timoney / Jones : with the MC announcement they really have an opportunity to put their hands up. Connacht are abrasive, a lack of physicality will shaft us.

Treadwell owes a big one, his ban cost UR big time in Glaws.

Happy to see more of Moore & Hume in centre.
Are SMcC & Hume a decent partnership? I like Moore’s skill set.

Glad to see Albie at 9. He’s been underused for me.

A blustery Galway isn’t going to be a great day for a back 3 - interesting to see how they go. I’m still to be impressed by Gilroy in any game post injury. Hopefully he can come back to his finishing best - because that really is the best bit of his game.

Roberts - McBurney injured, leaving only two senior hookers fit. Irony being he’s getting more chances than our academy backrow.

Timoney/Jones - sadly think now Jones might be our best chance and at that, exposure might be better spent on fast tracking academy players who have a higher ceiling.

Paddy Power have stopped taking bets on the home outfit.

You can have Ulster (+5) at evens if you want though.

Kyle McCall is nowhere near this level. Scrum looks dangerous with him in it.

Really strange decision to play McCall when we will obviously be under pressure in the scrum. Warwick Is not spectacular but can lock out a scrum

Totally agree and the reason for my scrum worries. Be lucky to get back on the pitch and BL to see out the game.

Yeah he's staying off now. Can't fathom the decision to start him against Connacht.

80% of play in our half, scrum being schooled but still only 9 -14 down. There's hope yet. On the other hand, all that defending must have taken its toll. We'll need to get some good early points or else Connacht will just keep grinding away and we'll run out of steam.

Loving the aggressiveness. Dan must have told them to prove we are not soft without marcell.
