Spee/Marshall - rotation system. When "A" team has a game, Spee will play and Marshall will bench for the big boys. When under 21's are playing, Marshall will be with them and Spee gets to warm his bottom.

I suppose there is some sort of logic to this?

On Andrew Trimble

"I was very happy with Andrew Trimble although we didn't manage to provide him with the sort of ball we wanted to." "He'll wear number 11 on his back but you'll see him pop up in other places". "He's in the Tommy Bowe mould, and has real potential to be an attacking force."

All good wingers should play a roving roll sounds more like he has set plays where Trimble will line up in the centre

There were several times last week where he was anywhere but on the left wing. At the time I wasn't sure if ist was a deliberate ploy or inexperienced enthusiasm.

All very well providing he doesn't pop up somewhere when he should be covering on the wing.

From to-days News Letter..............

The only change to the squad which travelled to Cardiff last Friday is on the bench, with Reece Spee coming in at cover at scrumhalf, Paul Marshall being given an opportunity to get game time with the Under-21 team this weekend.Spee was in Spain with the Ulster A team last week and will be glad of this opportunity to play with the senior squad.McCall said Marshall, because of his involvement with the side, had not got any game time in three weeks."That is a situation we do not want and he will be playing for the Ulster Under-21 side against Connacht this weekend."It is a rotational system and Spee comes back in to the squad again.

Then Marshall could have played in the A game and Spee could have sat on the bench (as the 2nd choice Nos 9) something that Campbell had to do often enough last year behind Doak.

So we now operate a policy of rotating our 2nd and 3rd choice scrum halves until at least the end of the month when they will become the 3rd and 4th choice scrum halves.

Will he then rotate Boss and Campbell to ensure neither of them sit on the bench too much. Does the rotational policy only apply to the scrum half position.

He didn't seem to worry last year when campbell sat on the bench week in week out. At least we now know and can watch the rotational policy continue.
