So the local rag said the more likely scenario on coaching was Murphy or Payne as head coach, maybe both joining the coaching ticket.

Don't know when Soper's deal is up, Bell has a deal till 2025.

Get rid of Bell. Keep Murphy as head coach and get Payne as no 2/ defence coach. Soper has a 100% record, so keep him. Piennar as backs coach/kicking coach. Any delusions of getting some world class coach are way off the mark.

It’d be interesting to see what the dynamic would be between them if they worked together especially as it’d mean Payne lost out on the top gig.

Pretty sure one of the reasons payne left was he wanted to move from d to attack coach.
I’d happily see them work together but egos would have to be parked. Agreed bell has to go.
May work if payne did d for a yr, then promised to be moved to attack end of season.

Grant is the forwards coach? But yes need a scrum coach, Dan did it and Fogarty from the Irish Coaches has been / is coming up for a day or two / week to cover that gap.

Bell is contracted till 2025, don't know about Soper.

Bell has not been good in my opinion - our defence has been very poor. You would think if Payne is coming back he would do defence. Not sure how good Grant is with the forwards but we definitely need a scrum coach.

After 15 rounds, Ulster have the 10th best defence in the URC having conceded 339 points, an rounded average of 23 per game. Below Ulster are the Sharks 344, Ospreys 346, Bulls 350, Dragons 509, Scarlets 511 and Zebre 533.

So if we had conceded 11 more points to b 15 games we would have been 13th. Appallng.

So no Deegan or Ed Byrne then….
