You got skin in the game?
Re: Schools Cup 2016
It'd be interesting (to me anyway) to see a survey to show us the percentage of boys who played schools rugby that still play when they're 23 (say,) from each rugby school. I wonder if at Methody, for instance, is it true that a higher percentage quit at 18, than at somewhere like Ballymena, Dungannon, Armagh, wherever.
I, I think like Russ, think that might be true, and it's worthwhile asking questions if so - in terms of the Greater good of the game, the Schools Cup is pretty small fry.

Seems to churn out centres
What happens to RBAI and MCBs forwards? Or 9s?

For the 2 biggest playing schools that's frankly appalling
Take 8 starting forwards per season
Two schools
Say 15 years life after school of a pro rugby player
240 players
And there is 1
239 players decided they'd had enough of rugby after what in all probability was a school's cup final
How sad that this is the case
Plus he's a twunt, typical Big 2 really

Not having read your previous 17,618 posts, are you normally this classy in your assessment of Ulster players, supposedly you are a supporter of?Russ wrote:One ...ChuckleBrothers wrote:

Re: Schools Cup 2016
Russ - This may come as a shock to you but maybe rugby doesn't actually mean that much to most kids post school? I mean it's pretty cut throat and margins are fine and the likelihood of playing provincial rugby is pretty slim unless you are pretty exceptional.. Even if you are pretty exceptional you could end up unlucky with injury ( Adam Macklin) ? Maybe your parents early on point out the pros of concentrating on your education and getting a job with a pension after 30 years as supposed to reaching for the rugby stars and falling short? My son enjoyed his school rugby for the best part and the discipline training instilled in him has been a major benefit in his college and work life and he will always feel a member of the MCB rugby history ( plus his achievements didn't do his CV any harm ) I think it's sad/ typical to hear negative comments about the big Belfast Schools but it says more about the poster of those comments I guess. Paddy Jackson, MCB captain and Ulster captain at 23 with a massive future ahead of him.... Those terrible Belfast schools Russ? Move on.

Paddy Jackson is a decent lad all the same
I only read that last bit. Presumed the first was an ill conceived rant
Now - who will win the schools cup?

Russ- I reckon one of those pesky Belfast schools that you possibly didn't attend will win the Schools cup mate....... at Ravenhill....I would have thought 17 000 + posts since 2012 would have empowered you to offer more than standard trolling but....
