At least he held it together when the clock went red.
Although, 4 pts would have been enough. We've no chance of overhauling Edinburgh and Treviso's PD is miles behind Ulster.

If Edinburgh get nathin from glasgae, and we get 5 from thomond are we not through? Was mentioned on bbc last night.

Mrs BM says "that"s bloody men for you. A few hundred out of several thousand couldn't organise themselves to make a decent protest like the feminists did"

She has a point.

That is true but it's not going to happen.

Embra are at home and Glasgow are through. There is the small matter of the Jocks Cup but Embra should get what they need.
And do you really think we will come back from Thomond with 5 pts?

I thought the stands looked more empty than the Ospreys match.
Can't speak for the corporate, but the others were just as full, and the terrace was much more crowded.

Wonder how many freebies were given out?
I siht you not, there was a Dublin registered bus load of Leinster men (complete with Leinster hoodies, etc) dropping off on Mt Merrion when I was going in.
"Who are we supporting?" says one.
"Tommy Bowe," says his mate.

Did they have Leinster accents? Could they have been from tommys home town, monaghan? I saw a gaa banner for him at the game.

It was a typical Saturday crowd. Which generally equates to a Zebre crowd. Friday nights are far and away the best attended.
There was no more or no less room on the terrace where I was.

That's fair enough. Honestly, there are too many factors here - last home game of the season, on a Saturday, good opposition, rearranged fixture, good weather - to be certain one way or the other. I agree with the earlier comment that the seats are the most accurate way to measure attendance, and for me, I'd have expected a bigger crowd but for the recent issues.

There was no appetite for a vocal protest either despite attempts from who I assume was Rugoval and myself to get "IRFU shame on you" and "Logan out" going, there were no takers. Somebody on the Prom had a Logan out banner, but it seems the good people or Ulster don't give a toss.
Sorry Snipe but it was clear from tv there were plenty of empty seats, I would estimate a couple of thousand at least. They might have been able to give away tickets for terrace, but the stands showed a lot of space. Maybe the good people of Ulster do give a toss but think there is a better way of showing their disapproval? Not necessarily staying away either.

Good call Kipper but you'd have to go 10 years into the past for that ideal and it ain't gonna happen! I think the only difference between your thoughts and my own are that you were there tonight, fair play, I couldn't allow myself...
It's available every week at your local club. Ulster is the pro team which is a different animal entirely. You can't turn the clock back 20 years.
Remember the four provincial sides exist simply to supply the Ireland team with players. That's how the operation functions, It's not about fans. We are simply punters and we either buy or don't buy the product on offer. Provincial success is secondary to international success and there's a heck of a lot of daylight between first and second.

Wot he said, the way forward, local rugby.

Rugoval approached by eventsec. Two mins into game launched IRFU shame on you. Was told to stop as it was not in keeping with family values of club. Asked what I meant by the chant. Handed a copy of UR values to read but declined. Rugoval has never breached any of the values. Rugoval could not be given an explanation of how the chant breached UR values. Can be heard on TV around 1min 45 sec into game

This is quite disturbing. Using "family values" crap to suppress free speech sounds almost fascist. Does the family values thing include "all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others? He really is a piece of work.

If Leinster/Munster win the SDC and Pau can get into the Top14 top 6 we may not need one.

To those going, enjoy the game at Shane Logan’s Kingspan Stadium.
GLU has next season left on his contract, however, I understand he has had enough and wants to be released from his contract.

I am disgusted that GLU has not had any sort of support, and his season in which he has apparently been distraught with his form, has been handled so badly.

If a guy is out of form but you know he is one of the best players to have represented the club, and furthermore has the heart of a Lion, you don't throw him in a few times in iffy selections away from home, you give him chances at home in front of the fans he has engaged over more years than you can remember.

I have nothing but respect for Andrew Trimble, he has given so much and his entire career to Ulster, he was scandalously overlooked by Deccie for Ireland, I heard he was ready to quit when on 49 caps but held on, outlasted Deccie and became first choice again under Schmidt and played some of his best rugby.

What I don't understand is how people who have given Ulster much less, including Tommy whose best years were at Ospreys, a big send-off in a poor selection which paid off. GLU was limited to a few words with the Q-chube. Sparky got more attention FFFS.

Personally, I'd love Andrew to stay for next season, but only if he is given a fair crack of the whip, I'd hate him to endure another season like this on the sidelines and sidelined.

I really wonder do Ulster look for idiots when making appointments, the man management of the last two/three seasons has been lamentable and I hate to see outstanding players treated like dirt.

Long life and happiness to the GLU. :thumleft:
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
