Munster is in serious trouble. Indeed! They rebuilt a 26K stadium (an asset, not a liability by the way) and they have 75% paid off in 4 years and another 6 years to come up with the rest (€10m) of it if they want to buy out the 50% stake the IRFU have in their Thomond Stadium.

I'm sure all the players (and IRFU) are well aware of the value of getting a home semi will be. Guess who they will be cheering for the the QFs.

PS DL - Thought I should do something for you as you're not getting too many bites

The semi will be played in the Aviva no matter whether Munster or Ulster win it

Yes, but the IRFU will want Munster to get there so they can use the money to pay off their Thomond debts. Unless I've got this badly wrong.

Why wouldn't they want Ulster to win so that we could pay off our debt for the new stand? They are guaranteed a semi in New Lansdowne so they won't care.

You got it wrong as ticket sales from semi go to ERC and IRFU get rent for Aviva, unless I have got it wrong.

The ERC get the ticket money for HEC SFs anyway.

The IRFU would get money for leasing out the stadium for a day which is clearly better than nothing but will be a lot less than the ticket sales - I think around 10-15%.

I don't know what the deal is for things like food and drink within the stadium and who gets that.

Oh right, sorry. So actually the IRFU probably don't care in the slightest who wins.

Goodness sake, a lot of them really taking it overboard

They're just jealous we got Bowe over them.

And for any 'Munsterfans' reading this, there is nothing in the rulebook saying we can't use our NIQs as much as we want. We're allowed 4 NIQs for a reason and we plan on using them. We don't care if we 'depend' on them just cos you don't, that's up to you.

I'm now relishing our trip to Thomond in April to show you that we do mean business and we can mix it up with the big guys. And just to let you know, I bought three sets of clappers and I plan on buying many more now. Thanks for the motivation :thumleft:

Good to have the fires lit, enjoy the trip south. Any chance you lot could stop at Sainsburys on the way down and do a bit of shopping for us, besides the clappers.
Hopefully the game will go ahead if we're not in administration by Easter.
