For this reason and also to allow for delays in plane arrivals the any time off peak ticket might be a better bet than the cheapest off peak single which is for a specified train only.
Good advice Wags, we got the open ended off peak tickets last time and they worked well for us.

Cheers Bart and others. Can't book online anyway it seems as I've a quaint old issue Northern Bank Access, which isn't "enrolled" in their new online security scheme. Marvellous!

From memory - last time we just waited til after 9:30 am and our tickets were about £14 return buying them at Birmingham airport station. We were still in Northampton in to time to check in and be at the Wig & Pen for opening time. :drunken:

That'll do then.

It's just that SWMBO likes to make sure I have all travel documents laminated and tied around my neck before I go off anywhere alone. For some reason she seems to want me to come back.

Takes about 20mins from landing to the airport station I think.

Yeah...that sounds about right, you can't really go wrong, but if you do I can highly recommend these guys...very reliable and very reasonable rates...

Nahhh - not a sinner will talk to you. Walk down a street in Northampton in a rugby shirt and people will cross to the other side of the road to avoid making eye-contact with you. The pubs will not allow you in and the police will marshal you along with horses and dogs making you ring a bell and shout 'unclean, unclean!" ;)

We spent nearly that 'having a chat' with West Midlands finest as left arrivals. :terror:

No hassle - only doing their job. You should try Ben Gurion.

Can't ever remember getting through it without hassle and that is based on 50 + flights over 20 years, although not just as bad as it was in early 90's
