So at least we witnessed history last Friday as Connacht threw off their shackles and registered a long overdue win in Ravenhill. So now we head into the Heineken cup with 2 successive losses under our belt and low expectations. Hopefully the team won't let that get to them the way it has depressed me.
In the Predictions league we have an unprecedented three-way tie for the lead as Pauline, Kraggie and Loosehead1984 all share the honours. And that is the way it will stay for the next few weeks as we take a break from Pro14 action.
We now head into the Heineken cup which, as usual, is run as an entirely separate competition. The first two rounds are now open for your predictions. So even if you missed the start of the Pro 14 there's no reason why you shouldn't enter the SDC and start with a clean slate.

Ulster got their European challenge off to the best possible start by putting the Leicester Tigers to the sword at a damp Ravenhill. More of the same will be required next week when the challenge will be the stiffer one of bearding the French galacticos in their own den in Paris.
In the Predictions league we have a couple of familiar names at the top of the leaderboard in Loosehead1984 and Pauline with caledoniancelt in third.
Next up round 2 of the Heineken cup. As usual iot's still very early days so even if you missed the first round there's no reason why you shouldn't enter the SDC and aim to catch up.

Ulster got their arses handed to them in Paris but it was only to be expected and for the first 20 minutes it looked as if it mightn't have been coming after all...
In the Predictions league Pauline has bubbled back to the top (despite being one of only two posters who consistently pick Ulster to win even against the shortest odds!) and opened up a bit of a margin over loosehead and caledioniancelt.
The Heiny takes a pause now until the back-to-back-games in December. Next week we're back to pro-14 action with Ulster at home to the Dragons.
The next two Pro14 rounds are now available for predictions.

A flat Ravenhill witnessed a mixed performance with Ulster securing a four-try win. But Jared was not impressed. Apparently nothing that was practiced during the week was put into practice during the game. Must do better!
In the predictions league oldman has clambered into the top three displacing Kraggie. So Loosehead tops the pile with oldman second and Pauline third.

A rare win on the road for Ulster sees them up to second in their conference. Kind of important to pick up these wins no matter how ugly or turgid they are.
In the predictions league there's no change in the top two with loosehead still on top and oldman second. Loki has displaced former leader Pauline whose poor performance this week saw her drop right out of the top 3.
No Pro 14 action for the next few weeks due tot he autumn internationals but the next round is now open for predictions.

After a superb win for Ireland over New Zealand at the weekend it is time to return our attention to the Pro 14. Ulster face Heineken cup opponents Llanelli Scarlets in the first of three matches against the same opposition over the next 4 weeks. Not sure what sort of teams will be available for the first of these with both Ireland and Wales due to play on the Saturday.
