I'd have him as first choice 2nd centre for Ireland also and haven't even seen him play there yet.

Cooney does everything right but his passing lets him down it is on occasion slow and erratic and for that reason fails to be my man of the match it may seem harsh but they are the basic essentials of a scrum half .

Cooney gets a 9 and Burns a 5 in Belfast Telegraph — Why ? A good scrum half can make a poor out half better — he provides the out half time and space .
He has to work on his speed and passing — his kicking game has improve .

Addison in my book is sound but has yet to star — Charlie was a star and was marked by the opposition as such( sometimes he failed because of it )— Addison has yet to be subject to that attention .

For me the guys on TV got it right
even in a dismal first half the spark performer was Gilroy and his try was a gem a mix of speed change of pace and guile — Gilroy at his best — he worked for that try

I would agree McCloskey needs to add some guile to his game a few low kicks towards the corners would start to worry the opposition .

He is a typical first centre who has never played out half ,players who have moved from out half to centre tend to vary the attack more .

Addison for me. Someone said last week he really turned up after the 60 minute mark - about 20 minutes earlier this week. Looks like he reads the game very well and reads it as it unfolds - classy operator so far.
