Alas i suspect you're probably right Rooster, given that Solly, Sexton and Kempson raised their profiles last season at the time the job was up for grabs and yet to my knowledge barely got a look in. The question therefore is why - why is the prospect of these 3, or even 1 or 2 of them, taking charge so remote? Is it personalities at the top? If so, is it the top of Ulster rugby or the IRFU? Is it money? Is it player power?

Given Solly has set up base here and Kempson is a regular visitor i'm sure those 2 at least could be persuaded to come on board. Sexton might require a bigger sell, but then again the opportunity to move on from junior to senior management might appeal to him at this stage in his career.

I want MW to succeed and he will continue to have my support, but deep-down i have a nagging feeling that the right coaching team for the job is not in post and in all probability will never be in post. Yet my hunch is that we have the resources and appeal to bring them in, but not the will. Very frustrating!

we should learn 'Waltzing Matilda' and sign it on friday night
To avoid the risk of taking the players attention from the game, I will fix that for you.
we should learn 'Waltzing Matilda' and sing it on friday night

To know what you are singing when you are signing means they have to be watching you. Does that help?

ahhh...with you
the whole 'walking and chewing gum at the same time' thing

yeah, could be a bit much for our boys, and i wouldnt want to see 15 heads simultaneously about turn and look onto the terrace when edinburgh are coming at them.

maybe we could sing it during a break in play?
or maybe before the game starts?

:cowboy:

joking aside - something to show MW has the backing of the fans could be the decent thing to do - theres been a lot of talk here about the pressure he's under with family in australia, and the performances on the pitch?

Was reported at the time that it was Matt or no one else in picture if he didn't take job.
