Was he not one of the youngest Ulster captains ever when originally appointed?

It's the other way around, in that his focus on his own performance detracts from his captaincy.

You could be right so maybe his time has been broken up too much by Ireland duties etc. He's never really had a clean run at things and that will continue to be the case whilst he's still an Ireland international.

I think he was 24 when he took over from Simon.

He's a great leader, but I think Francie is a better captain.

Zackerly.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Did Franco ever captain the Lions?
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

He did Ruckie, but interestingly, he stepped down from the role in 2011 because his form had dipped and he wanted to focus on his own performance.

I would hate to see Henderson shackled with the captaincy before he is fully developed into the world class player that I believe he will be. Then I would think of making him captain.

Hendo doesn't strike me as quite the right man for the captaincy, Paddy is in my eyes the outstanding candidate.

Henderson is a back row / second row forward and even when picked as a second row his role is that of a back row and thus prone to err in front of referees too much to be exposed as Captain .

PJ does appear to have the required on field temperament but may require some guidance at the moment from a an old hand

I don't know where you get this stuff Rum'n.
That Richie McCaw is a bloomin liability as a captain, so is POM, Heaslip and Robshaw and as for that welsh clown Warburton.
