Haven't seen the match yet, but the past few games I have got the impression we don't throw to two, making it obvious for the opponents put up their number 4 jumper.UlsterNo9 wrote:Time up and we over throw our lineout givinf Benetton one last sniff.
Sorry but even if the execution was terrible why was anything other than number two jumper straight up not called.
Even if lost at least get a hand on it to swat it back into touch or knock it on and make the ball unplayable.... street smarts lacking.
And open to a penalty, depending on the referee.milltownham wrote:The final line out should have been thrown crooked once the clock was in the red. Scrum awarded to Benetton and the game ends, no need to risk losing the line out. Rory Best did it once for Ireland; pure, unadulterated gamesmanship!

What referee is going to think that Rory deliberately got a line-out wrong?BR wrote:And open to a penalty, depending on the referee.milltownham wrote:The final line out should have been thrown crooked once the clock was in the red. Pure, unadulterated stupidity in the circumstances.
Which may have been one of many reasons why it wasn't stupidity when he did it.Cap'n Grumpy wrote:What referee is going to think that Rory deliberately got a line-out wrong?BR wrote:And open to a penalty, depending on the referee.milltownham wrote:The final line out should have been thrown crooked once the clock was in the red. Surely one more crooked line-out would have been very believable based on the recent history of our shambolic set piece...BR wrote:Which may have been one of many reasons why it wasn't stupidity when he did it.Cap'n Grumpy wrote:What referee is going to think that Rory deliberately got a line-out wrong?BR wrote:And open to a penalty, depending on the referee.milltownham wrote:The final line out should have been thrown crooked once the clock was in the red. Not worth the risk. Before the law changes on lineouts from penalties after 80' it may not have been such a risk.milltownham wrote:Surely one more crooked line-out would have been very believable based on the recent history of our shambolic set piece...BR wrote:Which may have been one of many reasons why it wasn't stupidity when he did it.Cap'n Grumpy wrote:What referee is going to think that Rory deliberately got a line-out wrong?BR wrote:And open to a penalty, depending on the referee.milltownham wrote:The final line out should have been thrown crooked once the clock was in the red.
