France's decision making was worse than Barnsey's. That's all I'm saying.

Scotland brought it with them most likely.

The auld alliance trophy. ‘ In memory of the war dead from the rugby communities of Scotland and France’

Cap'n Grumpy wrote: Fri Mar 26, 2021 10:15 pm France would have been better off not grounding that as the penalty try would have given an extra 2 points, and should Price not have been yellow carded for tackling the try scorer before he had the ball, ie foul play trying to prevent a score.

France penalised for being too good
Bakebook thinks that Barnes should have given a penalty try anyway....
And a yellow card
Absolutely! :thumleft:

reminiscent of PJ try at the Memorial end v Leinster a few years back when he was having his head torn off by a Kearney. Unfortunately he successfully grounded the
Ball in the corner. Result 5 points. If he hadn't grounded......penalty try and 7 points

Fun Friday 6N stat, stolen from twitter @alexpaynetv

8/10 games not involving Italy had a winning margin of within 5 points.

Roughly translated: we both hate the English

... and Engerland were on the wrong side of the other two.

You can argue as to which was the best team in this 6N but Albion were most definitely 5th.

Ire beat wales we win A championship. Thank you POM, your red (or 6.5 yellows.....as some don’t quite grasp the seriousness of the sanction), cost a championship. Wales rode their luck having to offer little outside an outstanding final 25 against England . Thank god Scotland don’t have sexton at 10 - would’ve beat wales.
Russell is all flash no dash, magic moments - no consistent management, no way is he top class int 10 quality unless behind a dominant pack - he’s gone missing (more times than chuck Norris in Vietnam) and yet former Scotland players arent Calling him out on it!!

I think the french wings in that game, alone , were passed the ball more often than the Irish wings in the five games played. Despite the fact that Sexton is playing so far behind his forwards.

And its basically because he is so far behind his forwards the backs are flat and static when receiving the ball and trying to attack from a standing- still-start.

The french had the game won except for that brain dead moment at the end -- failure to kick it dead.

A pity because they played an attractive nice to watch game.

Well thankfully that crap is over. Some of the media calling it the best 6Nations ever!? Not for me. There were moments of brilliance but too often teams retreated into safety first rugby and the amount of errors by every team was very high. Most games, teams lost the match rather than teams winning it - if you know what I mean. But the biggest memory from this years championship for me was the very poor standard of refereeing overall. Its a combination of stupid laws being applied rigidly by refs who have no empathy for the players and refs who are obviously not up to it. Wales were gifted their win against England, the arrogant Barnes definitely favoured the Scots last night - double movement try, no yellow for Price, a yellow for Serin?? to name but a few errors, Adamson in Rome, etc etc. TMOs calling play back for players sneezing at times. No, over zealous officialdom stands out more than any great plays or matches.

They have lost the ability to properly referee the scoring of a try. A fundamental issue.
