it would be nice if every 12 was the complete package very few are. Unfortunately the modern game where frequently the ruck is uncontested and the defence strings out across the field restricts the space available for the 12 and a packed defensive line encourages teams to play a flat backline attack which can lead to intercepts when players try to pass or off load in front of the defence.
It not beauiful to watch its not necessarily what a team wants to play but it is frequently the only option to run try to break the tackle and then off load which if performed too soon may lead to the receiver get ball and man.
Every body knows what they would like to see but players are restricted to what is possible.
