I believe they thought they'd ruled on one particular act of remembering, but is there a precedent for setting precedents? Also is there a precedent for ignoring such rulings?

I believe I shall start a campaign. Release the Ringpiece. Garry Ringroad has been cruelly maligned. There's only one Ringpiece in Leinster and he's going to France.

Payne at 15, Jackson in the 23. Might see some rugby played.

I swear to feck, if Parisse lines PJ up because ickle Van Der Flier cant protect his 10 like a grown-up, any and all commemorative boots will be lodged up any and all available Leinster colons.

More civilians killed than combatants (most by rebel forces), the people really won

I shall remember this, Five lads having a bit of banter with Professor Severus Snape, with their shooting sticks.

I didn't say which people and it is pretty clear that nobody actually won in 1916.

We can't second guess history, without the Easter 1916 incident, the next rebellion could have been much bigger and significant and plunged Ireland into immediate and parallel anglo-irish and civil war with much worse consequences. Of course, equally the IRB and others may have just gone home for a wee cup of tea and decided to concentrate their efforts on dcking about with the laws of rugby.*

*other potential scenarios exist, only your imagination can stop you.
