Re: URC Fixtures 2022/23
Hope the players will say no.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Re: URC Fixtures 2022/23
OK, so now it's official.
My prediction is, we're pretty much guaranteed to lose Lowry, Baloucoune, Hume, Timoney, Treadwell and O'Toole. I'd imagine McIlroy, Stewart Moore, Doak, Marcus Rea and O'Sullivan will also be under consideration.
My paranoid Ulster fan head suspects conspiracy, but it's probably just a matter of trying to keep the Sith Ifricans happy.

Says it is a tour to look at guys who are just past the 20s window etc. Whoever is called up will probably miss Scarlets, Leinster and Ospreys games. Round 5 game is in South Africa v Lions so in theory, those players already in South Africa could then link up with the Ulster squad.paddybrown wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 12:56 pm OK, so now it's official.

Toyota Challenge 2022 (All 3 games in Bloemfontein)
Friday 30th September 2022
Griquas vs Emerging Ireland
KO: 12:45 (Irish time)
Wednesday 5th October 2022
Pumas vs Emerging Ireland
KO: 16:00 (Irish time)
Sunday 9th October 2022
Cheetahs vs Emerging Ireland
KO: 12:00 (Irish time)
Suspect Toyota etc have given IRFU a big bag of gold to do this at this time, should have been done in November when the URC takes a break, if it was going to be a thing.
Re: URC Fixtures 2022/23
It only affects non Leinster players, so once again thanks IRFU for helping Leinster. Ballbags

The highest ranked side will again have choice of hosting venue for the URC final this season with no destination venue.

Re: URC Fixtures 2022/23
Was just noting down the games on my calendar (to get formal approval from the boss when needed) and wondering if the greater number of Saturday games will have any impact on attendance figures. I know in the past, those involved with their own clubs can be reluctant to head to Ravenhill having been out all day Saturday already.
Re: URC Fixtures 2022/23
Gives more time for the culchies to make it though.

Oh great another unexpected downside
Re: URC Fixtures 2022/23
Seems Ireland A will play All Blacks XV on Friday November 4th at the RDS. Ireland v South Africa at Lansdowne Road on the 5th.
The Munster Ulster game the weekend before could well have a lot of players unavailable.

Re: URC Fixtures 2022/23
Why on earth would you play a game like that in Dublin, less than a mile from the Aviva?? With Munster playing a SA’n XV at home surely Ravenhill should be getting this. We get fk all. Not even a U20’s game.

Can anybody explain how on earth Treadwell is classed as an emerging player?paddybrown wrote:OK, so now it's official.
