Well working backwards from kickoff the best rough itinery we are working on is -
Kick off 8pm.
So as we are mere East terrace dwellers (although we may now have a roof over our heads) ideally at Scotstoun and in the clubhouse by 6pm.
So aim to be at Jordanhill Station and in the nearby Three Craws pub (has a range of Ales, and 10 minute stroll to the ground), 501 Crow Road for 5pm.
Trains seem to take 11 minutes (stops at Anderston, Exhibition Centre, Partick & Hyndland) and run every 30 minutes so be bar near or in Glasgow Central Railway Station by 4pm.

So once we have checked in at Euro Hostel at 318 Clyde Street at about 2pm that leaves us approx 2 hours to drink in bars between Clyde Street and Glasgow Central Railway station - anyone any suggestions?

Wetherspoons? Gash atmosphere but cheap drink, you'll know them

Famous (in Glasgow) was at one time the longest bar in Europe, based on the shape (can you guess what it is yet?)

Out towards the ground you'll be alright with the 3 craws, it's a bit further to walk to the ground from Scotstounhill but I doubt you'll be caring by that point.

If you get off the nearest train to Ashton Lane, you'd never make it. Too many pubs to pass on Dumbarton Road and Byres Road. If you are on the underground loop you would get off perfect for Ashton Lane if you get off at Hillhead.

It's not beyond the wit of man to get a taxi from there, they're plentiful and if you've got 5 to get into a hack, probably cheaper than the train. Friday before the game will be fine, after hoaching.

Thats our plan. Underground to Hillhead at 2.00, bit of grub and a few snifters before a taxi by 6 down to scotstoun. What are the drinking facilities at the ground?

REFRESHMENTS

Kiosks in the Main stand concourse and behind the North stand will be selling a variety of hot and cold food and drinks, as well as bottled alcoholic drinks.
Refreshment units will also be positioned at either end of the stadium, and will have draught alcoholic drinks available for purchase.
Spectators seated in the Main and North stands are welcome to visit these refreshment units during the game. Please use the units nearest to your seat, as indicated by the signage in the stands. Please make your way to the units using the concrete walkway that runs along the front of both stands.

GLASGOW WARRIORS CLUBHOUSE

A clubhouse, selling a variety of drinks including draft alcoholic beverages, will be in operation in the games hall at the north east corner of the stadium.
For Friday night games kicking off at 7.30pm or 7.35pm, the clubhouse will be open pre-match from 6pm and post-match until at least 11pm.
Capacity in the clubhouse is limited, and supporters are strongly advised to arrive early.
Under-18s will be admitted to the clubhouse until 10pm provided they are accompanied by an adult.

ColinM - much as we dislike paying for taxis we might change our plan to something similar to yours. Only question now is do we apply facepaint before or after the taxi to Scotstoun?

Didnt know that there was an Underground until today. Looks useful. Have printed out the map. Quite easy to follow - just appears to go round and round in a circle.

Thanks GoneSouth, I think we'll make it our business to mingle with the sweaties in the 'clubhouse' from 6.00 before making our way to seats in the main stand.

HWMike - have you considered applying yer face paint in the taxi? Could help to avoid wasting drinking time at either end of the journey

Gonesouth - any chance you could let us know how much a pint costs in this "clubhouse" at Scotsoun and whether or not there are any decent ales on tap as opposed to just lagers.
