Another hand me down from the IRFU who couldn't make it at 2 other Provinces .... does our management have a backbone !!! D4 could save themselves a load of cash by doing away with whoever is supposed to be making decisions up here and just run the fekkin place from down there ... oops they already are doing that

And that after a ‘Sabbatical’.

Any clues as to nature of this Sabbatical? Did he visit a monastery in Tibet to find himself?

He did a post-grad course at Oxbridge. Think he played in a colours match while he was there.

He's played more games for Leinster A than the senior side since the start of last season and wasn't in the European squad this year. I think the fact that Leinster are prepared to release him when Toner and Ryan will be away a lot with Ireland and the limit on non-EU/Kolpak players means that Fardy won't play every game says a lot about where Nagle was in the pecking order at Leinster.

Decent medical joker for six months. He'll offer just as much as Browne did / would.

Open to correction but believe he packs down at lock on the tight head side. Hopefully brings a bit of ballast our scrum badly needs. He's not the long term answer but should he aid locking down our scrum when he does get an appearance then he could be answering a question or two about what type of NIQ lock we need to bring in longer term.

Nah, no more so than AOC, and Treadwell's heavier.

We've managed to sign one of the few pro locks in Ireland at or below Pete Browne's level.

Yes I remember seeing some article about him getting his "Blue".

There is no point in looking for a replacement outside the four provinces until after the World Cup .

All that would be available at the moment would be sub- International Standard -- thus adding little if anything to the quality of the squad or putting any more Bums on seats .

Better to build a War Fund than waste it on sub subs
