Great stuff from young Rory and what a turnaround from the agony of Augusta to 24hr journey + 12hr time change to losing clubs to only practicing for 2 hours then walking out onto a pitch he'd never seen before in melting heat & humidity to coming back in -11 after two days. :salut:

He's a class act that lad :red:

Rory gave 1F a lesson @ Malone the other day but lost the coffee payment to NOC!

heard chubby speaking after the masters and that is intentional. allows him more time at home, with his mates etc...
chubby did also say that it was something that would be reviewed however - he could look instead to ramp up the number of tournaments he competes in and contends for a win, the idea being to give him more experience at closing out wins and being in contention on a sunday...

NOC is a pretty handy player as far as i know - v low handicap... what was the challenge? putting? or a round with NOC given a shot a hole?

1F was playing at Malone with Rory Mc last week so perhaps he has been giving him a few tips on how to beat NOC, alternative is 1F just looks at NOC every time he is about to swing and says "fancy being my tackle bag for a few hits"

In an interview with Darren Cave he said that O'Connor spends more time on the golf course than playing rugby!

:afro: - as impressive a round as an opening 61/62 at any other major

nothing flashy, nothing eye catching - just safe and confident play and pure pure ball striking.

when alongside him mickelson and DJ - the "big US stars" are firing balls all over the course, finding the beach, getting wet, using their driver out of the rough... very easy to get caught up in the craziness - try to smask it off the tee, fire it right at the pin etc...

westwood and donald couldnt find their game, even level par looks to be a good score... that is a cracking start and if he were to just go round in level par or even one or two under for the next 3 days, that could be enough...

we're gonna win your open, we're gonna win your open (again)

Not that I really understand these things, but the commentators last night were suggesting that as the course dries it will only get tougher and that -3 could be enough to win the title.
