Only seeing this now.... very sad to hear, my thoughts and prayers to all his family. Always enjoyed his posts and have had some interaction with him on here, he was always very helpful!!

Ah wee Stanley you will be sadly missed on the prom and Friday nights will not be the same. Thinking of all his family and friends at this sad time. Big Don and the heavy gang.

Does anyone know any details about the funeral arrangements?

We will miss him, but only a small fraction compared to his loving family. Our thoughts are with them at this time.

And with respect, I think he would find that a humorous and ironic reposte to this thread. I still can't believe it.

Indeed, and he would mean it too.

Shocked and saddened to hear the news.

It was in early 2011 that I started coming back to Ravenhill after many years away. Before long I joined up with the group that Stanley was a member of and it was a pleasure to spend time with him. He was an absolute gentleman and his knowledge of (and passion for) Ulster rugby was unsurpassed.

I will be there next season to stand alongside SonOfCables but the man himself will be be sadly missed. However much Ravenhill changes over the next few years a part of it will forever be Stanley's .

Farewell Stanley and thanks for the good times. My thoughts and prayers are with SonOfCables and the rest of the family.

Would it be appropriate to wear our Ulster shirts to Stanley's funeral? I think it would be a nice touch to remember such a loyal supporter and gentleman.

Gentlemen and ladies

The man himself will leave this world in his suit and Ulster Rugby tie. I would ask you to take your lead from him at the service.

Just want to add my condolences to the family, and echo all the thoughts here. He will be missed, very sad news.

Never met him but judging by the respect he got on this board he must have been a gentleman. Condolences.
