Pray tell, where will you get them from?
We have a small base.
We have been looking for years for a replacement for Hayes and there is still no great hope at THP.

Sexton will replace ROG and Luke Fitz and a couple more will come in.

The big problem today was the short spell of idiotic decisions by Cian Healy to get a sin bin and the crass stupidity of Flannery to get a penalty reversed as well as Darce failing to score. All in the space of a few minutes. Sinbinning in the modern game equals a try for the team with 15 hence France went a try up and settled. Once we failed to score just before the break the game was up.
If Darce had scored; if ROG had scored a penalty when Fla caused the reverse; if Healy had let the guy go even at the cost of a try. All these contributed to turning points from which we could not recover

Dublin4 and anyone else thinking of replying, just to save you some time, it's a Wind-Up Merchant. And not a very subtle one at that

irish mistakes were certainly costly but in fairness, france hammered the hell out of us in the second half. They really went for the jugular and played some beautiful rugby. The fact is that Ireland can beat anyone on their turf but beating the top sides away is a different matter.

dublin is right, there is no one else to really come in. Sexton, Trimble and Fitzpatrick all offer something but that's about it really. We're actually very fortunate that our players are wrapped in cotton wool. We our guys played the number of games as the French and English then we really would be in trouble.

Don't worry elephant man, we'll finish 2nd or 3rd this year and aim for another grand slam next year when we have england and france at home...

if you look at guys like Darcy, BOD, ROG and POC you'll find that they are not actually that old. They'll are be fine for another RWC and have a wealth of experience. Certainly, Ealrs, Fitzy and Sexton need serious game time but generally this side is as good as it gets.

Got to say Earls is far of being the finished article. I would play him in the Ireland A side for the next year. Kearney has gone off form and we have no other real option.

There are no huge options for DK. but silly decisions such as Trimble being dropped needs to be sorted. DK promised to play 'in form' players. today he played at least 3 that were anything but.

Who exactly should be blooded? The World Cup, as you say, isn't ages away so these players you say should be blooded will be current professionals playing for the provinces, but which ones are you talking about? Unless of course you're planning on knitting new players

well hayes wont go on forever so deccy fitz should be thrown into a court/rory/deccy front row. bryan young as cover on the bench.
OK o'connell would still be in there but tuohy should be brought into the set-up. ryan can sit on the bench to keep the turnips happy.
in the back row ferris and heaslip should be accompanied by either pollock or faloon - cant make up my mind which...

in the backs willis with iHumph.
whitten and cave are the future so play them now.
trimble on the wing with tommy bowe and jamie smith at FB

Where is Geordan Murphy these days? I agree with the Earls comment above, looks seriously light weight, as he did on the Lions. A lot of Munster hype and needs to spend a bit of time on the A squad. When Bastereud literally picked him up and carried him back all I could think of was Matthew Tait.

geordan wrecked his shoulder early in the season
just about to make a comeback in the next few weeks

if he were fit id definitely have him there or thereabouts - kearney can afford to be sloppy at the minute because the only other option is a punt on earls - if geordan was around he'd have to seriously raise his game or spend time on the bench

Geordan Murphy broke his shoulder in September. He got 20mins for the Tigers last weekend but that was his first game since the injury.

Geordan has had enough chances and been found wanting every time. It would be a step back without any reasonable chance of progress.
