I sincerely hope it’s just wishful thinking on their behalf
It is hard enough to remember my opinions, without also remembering my reasons for them

This reminds me of the Warwick deal for Munster ....hope its not true we signed him and hes a fantastic buy for a few seasons, he'll certainly win games and when the players are on international duty he will be a huge source of experience for the developers.

Well none of the Welsh trashy papers are reporting it so probably just a drunken rambling by some eejit in a chip shop, wonder did he see Elvis while he was there ?

If there is any truth in this (which I very much doubt) I would expect Ulster to take both Rush and Cardiff to the cleaners.

Warwick hadn't signed, but had agreed terms and conditions I think

If Rush has signed a contract then Ulster are in the driving seat.

I would like UR to declare WTF's going on though, because I don't like this speculation on potentially a future Ulster captain if its started by an utter pillock in a chip shop

So you want UR to make an official announcement based on the words of a pillock in a chip shop

Sccrum V also hinted last night that the move isn't set in stone.

I think with Tonga'uiha, he also hadn't signed with Saracens... but a verbal agreement is still a form of agreement so Saracens & Saints did come to a settlement over it.

Rush and Cardiff Blues are in negotiation with Ulster to keep the player at the Blues next year. Rush recently changed his agent and in february this year struck a deal with Ulster. Rush at the time felt things at the Blues were not that good. Having seen a change in fortunes and results at the Blues, Rush who has been in outstanding form and won the Player of the Year last night, reckons his chances of staying are 60/40 in favour of the Blues. He wants to stay.

For the benefit of Spikey Mikey this conversation between Rush and myself took place in a chippy in caroline st cardiff, where I had been waiting for hours in the hope of bumping into some Blues players.

For the benefit of the rest of you, this conversation took place between myself, Rush and a cardiff blues executive
May be a trivial point, but any time Rush spoke about the move he never referred to the situation at Cardiff being a factor, only that he wanted a new challenge. And would a professional player really decide half way trough a season that he wanted to move because his team weren't doing too well, then when they pull the finger out, suddenly go, "oh wait a minute, I might stay actually... Sorry guys!"

Just seems a bit childish to me

I'm 'a call BS on this one. Hope to goodness I'm right!

I hope it ain't true- he's been one of the few positive things to come out of the tail end of the season!

I always thought it was an odd signing though- unusual for such an experienced senior player to move on when he's maybe only got a few years left- a bit like Dan Parks.

It's not like he was slipping down the pecking order at Cardiff.

What would be nice, would be if Xavier himself made a statement BSing this rumour (preferably not confirming it :? ). Would show the fans he means business for next season.
