Gavin Duffy to Ulster?
There are rumours flying around the Connacht set up that Duffy is in talks with Ulster, can anybody confirm or deny this? I hope it's not true.

Well i hope this happens. Gavin is a decent guy and a decent player and someone that would serve Ulster Rugby well.
Keep it real; not inflamatory

Will be 29 in September - I thought he was older - could get a few years out of him considering Bryn is 32BR wrote:He's a right age now though.

Before you insult somebody you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you insult them you'll be a mile away and have their shoes!

Re: Gavin Duffy to Ulster?
He would only be getting a 1 year contract with Connacht but possibly a 2 or 3 with Ulster so the like of that might well swing him our way, plus Bryn is getting far too injury prone and is probably on his last contract anyway at present and Smith is still a bit green and would probably make a decent winger so there is a good chance for Duffy to get plenty of game time and the way he has played over the past season could with a couple of injuries get himself into the Ireland squad.
The sports tax break is a bit of a help but he may not have a big rebate due anyway and it is possible it could end plus he can always do a Shane Byrne at the end of the day for some club.

To be honest I ain;t seen a lot of duffy but we certainly need some depth in the back 3. Hopefully will do well if he comes.
Climb up onto the top of your house and start screaming: 'stand up for the Ulstermen, stand.......'

Would be a very good signing.
Re: Gavin Duffy to Ulster?
Quite frankly just the player we need to complete a potentially great squad.

Re: Gavin Duffy to Ulster?
Can't say i would've been that impressed by this a couple of seasons ago. However, i think Duffy has improved in recent times and would be a more than useful addition to the squad....especially as he covers several positions across the backline, positions where we are lacking strength in depth. A canny signing, if verified, imho.

Re: Gavin Duffy to Ulster?
Over the years I have been distinctly unimpressed with Duffy but we do need a full back and whilst I havent seen him much at all this year many who have say he has been great.
Doubt he would cost much so a decent signing if true.

a defence coach may be a better signing
