One New Departure

Post by colinh »

Connacht are also pleased to announced the signing of Ulster’s TJ Anderson. The 24 year old back-row player will join Connacht at the end of this season on a 2 year deal. Anderson has been capped 18 times in the Magners League in his 3 years with Ulster and has been a regular in their British and Irish Cup team, captaining the Ulster Ravens in January. The 6’4” 98kg Magherafelt born player was part of the Ireland U20 team that won the Grand Slam in 2007 in a side that included current Connacht players Andrew Browne, Jamie Hagan and Shane Monahan.

That looks like a one in one out for Mccomish so does that mean we still have Pollocks contract to fill? If so surely a number 7 to offer some comeptition/back up to willie makes sense?

Connacht pres release on TJ's move.

On watching the video by Conerflag I couldnt believe how they let him show how little this move means to him. It is obvious he doesnt want to leave but edit the video lads. As an Ulster fan if I saw this from a new Ulster signing I'd be far from happy.

I'm my seeing this wrongly?

Anyway goodluck to him and any other Ulster lads that end up down West next season. (Who'll be next....the folding deckchair aka the Bear?)

If he's as enthusiastic next season as he is in the video it won't be long til he's playing AIL. He hasn't a notion of getting into the team unless he gets the head down and works hard, with Muldoon at 6 and Naoupu at 8 next season , Browne superb at 6 all season , Johnny O'Connor revistalised, and Ofisa going well, he won't even get on the bench.

Terrible questions, poor fella couldn't fail to come across poorly should have been shorter, sharper and a lot more concise focussing on the future rather than the past. To be fair to him Ulster obviously means a lot to him...as he says he has played Ulster representative since he was at school and has been in the system for the last 5-6 years but that should not have been the focus. Tough for him to leave I'd imagine but as he says thats the way it is in pro sport nowadays.

Incredibly poor show from Cornerflag, I'd be embarassed if my companies name was put to that dung.

Good luck to the guy, not a flashy player but he always gave 100% and had a storming game down in TP this season.
RHH what a total load of brad pitt from you as usual - the interview was spot on - it clearly meant a lot for TJ to move West and that says a lot for the fella and the fact he was leaving a much improved Ulster set up.

Crawl back under the stone mate - your slimey friends are waiting for your ># useless arsehole!!

2 bench-warmers for a day for offensive language and verbal abuse. I do hope people begin to take note, or bannings will become more widespread, and last longer!!!

Amen. I hope he gets lots of league experience, and his career really begins to gather momentum. He deserves it.

Perhaps Ulster are getting something right  sending or releasing some of these lads to Connacht same way as Barker left and went to Glasgow and came back far better player due to increased playing time.
