Dan Parks to Connacht

Post by mea97mb »

Lot of rumours online and a mention in the Cardiff v Ulster match review on the Irish Times website. Anyone heard anything more concrete on this??
Cardiff are without the injured, Munster-bound centre Casey Laulala but Dan Parks, who is seemingly Connacht-bound, is at outhalf having retired from international rugby.

Dont see the point in this, if it does go through do you think NOC will return?

Would be a very good signing for Connacht. Having a tactical guy like that who can kick really well in wind would be good for them. NOC gets too much height on the ball I think which is no good when playing in places like Galway.

To hell or Connacht .I think Mr Parks has taken what he could get. Galway is a super place live but as regards his career it doest compare with the premier Welsh outfit. Bit like moving from Leinster to the Dragons.Thought he could be good for us though but maybe we are sticking with Jackson/McKinney
We dont need the English to win the European Cup

tbh never really rated Parks, kicking from hand is his only strength imo and hes lossing that with age. Still wouldnt mind him as a squad filler though

Why would you have an ageing, very limited player playing for Ulster, who will stop Jackson/McKinney getting valuable game time and more importantly will also take an NIQ spot....

If anything it could help Jacko with his kicking, from hand and from tee

To hell or to Connacht, sounds very apt. Poor Connacht though.

I don't like Parks. I hope he doesn't go to Connacht. They aleady have Niall O'Connor who does what Parks does and just as poorly but at least he is Irish.

A tad unfair on Parks methinks. He has over 60 caps while NOC has the big 0. Think Dan the Man would be a good signing for Connacht even if past his best. His performance on Friday was mixed to say the least but I would still rate him above NOC.

think he's a goon and after living in Glasgow have heard manies a rumour that he's a bit of a prat on a personal level also.

I don't know if Connacht can do better but I don't like the signing. NOC needs games to continue developing, Parks is at the end of his days but relatively useful I suppose. he seems to like playing against Ulster, which makes me warm even less to him.
