Leinster and the IRFU medical staff have announced that Leinster winger Luke Fitzgerald will be unavailable for the rest of the season and the Summer tour to NZ. He will undergo surgery on a persistent neck problem. And so it begins .

Would he have started 100%?

Sorry to hear - hope he recovers quickly, neck injuries can be extremely nasty.

hopefully the surgery goes well for him, can't imagine he's looking forward to it. it'll be interesting to see how he goes into contact on his return; playing with even a hint of the fear regarding an injury doesn't half put the yips on a career. don't particularly like him but hope to see any Irish player in the situation back fit and firing.

He was just looking like the player he was on Lions tour before he got injured against Australia. He's had a tough time with injuries.

Reports on twitter this morning saying O'Driscoll and Kearney picked up injuries in training this week and are out if the Glasgow game. Hopefully it's just precautionary for them

it'll take more than wild horses to keep them both off the pitch at twickenham. especially dricko.

After Drico's long injury earlier this year, if this is a repercussion it could be pretty bad.
