soo many to choose from, but who will it be?
Re: Who was your Ulster MOTM vs Edinburgh?
Cantt I vote twice ? dead heat McComish vs Payne...
Though no gripe with Wilsons BBC MOTM he was also excellent. In fact whole squad should get a gold star...![we're not worthy ](./images/smilies/bowdown.gif)

Great to say that a lot of guys raised their hands tonight, and even better, not the usual suspects - apart from Jared, who slotted into 13 smoother than paddy jackson's baby like bum cheeks.
I was going for mccomish, who proved himself a real option at 7, but Gilroy nicks it, even after his howler just after halftime by looking like a coiled spring every time he got the ball, and of course that totally legal shoulder shove for his try

Re: Who was your Ulster MOTM vs Edinburgh?
Gilroy ... Payne ... Wilson ....all great displays ... BUT that man Pienaar for me
Re: Who was your Ulster MOTM vs Edinburgh?
McComb for me; he really had a great al round game and just to vary it a bit. Payne was, of course, sheer class and he and Pienaar were the best players on the pitch by some distance. Gilroywas amazing attacking threat but the howler trying to run our of defence was unforgivable. McComish linked well but was not doing enough at breakdown which was wh we were turned over so bloody often; he was lurking near the wing far too often. McComb solid throughout, talked very, very well and really starting to carry well (oh and amazing hands for a big unit)
Please do not distrurb Mr Pienaar - he is operating in his bubble of calm

Gilroy definitely had me ready to smash the telly with ahis attempted break out, but I think he was just so confident tonight he thought he could pull it off. Do we want to play safe all the time or go for it? I don't think he'll try that in a HEC game, but I loved his enthusiasm and all round play.TriGav wrote:McComb for me; he really had a great al round game and just to vary it a bit. Mccomish stole at least 2 balls tonight and carried more than normal, but we certainly were short handed at the ruck far too often tonight. He definitely went up in my estimation tonight.
You're spot on about mccomb, and he was in the running up to 60 mins, but Gilroy kept up his performance for the full 80.
Even NOC had a good game - I'm sure cap'n grumpy will be voting for him when he gets home

Hope Lewis is ok in a few weeks

Wilson... that's what we got him for, Naysayers...
All of a sudden, drop outs to us are secure, indeed go forward and offensive, scrum ball steady, and all round muscular pain in the ar*e... look forward to Wilson vs Heaslip.
Tbh, McComb close second... f*cking hell, where did that come from?....

Not sure about Gilroy- a bad decision is a bad decision. Not sure he has maturity to be that selective yet.
Dont think it was all McComish,s fault totally at breakdown (Nick and Wilson not a great balance to begin with) but he is not doing enough or getting there early enough for me. Link work was good though and he is a work in progress going the right way. We need Birch or Doyle or McComish to turn into a decent 7

What age is mccomish?
I always thought he was an Andy Powell type, but he surprised me tonight.
I'm not saying he's Richie mccaw but he does have potential.

28-29? Hardly one for the future, but developing into a good squad player, after being a bit pants last season... confidence and MA?interlooter wrote:What age is mccomish?

Jared Payne for me! We had an invite to one of the corporate boxes tonight rather than our usual position on the terrace and the difference in view was what pushes me towards JP. His positioning in attack and defence was awesome all night - having someone with a full back mind at outside centre was at times invaluable and his line of attack excellent.

Re: Who was your Ulster MOTM vs Edinburgh?
Mccomish will be 29 in December, but you'd think he was younger, the way he plays.
If he keeps on improving like he has this season so far, he'll be very useful for us.
Boo, you reminded me of Jared's excellent covering of a few embra chips.
What a player to have. Maybe our best/most consistent player of the season so far.
