AIL TRANSFERS 2013/14 SEASON

Post by dublane »

Didn't see a thread for this coming season, so thought i would start one. Has there been much movement this year?

Transfers i have heard rumoured so far:
Tom Patton and Peter Henderson to Malone from COD
Ben Alexander to Malone from Queens
Jake Caulfield and Chris Taylor from Malone To Bhinch

Will be interesting to see where Mcilwaine and Mckinney are assigned.

Ballynahinch pushing hard to sign a lot of players again this year.

Ulster claim not to assign players and it is the players own choice who they sign for although I had heard McKinney to Malone due to the CCB connections.

one of Lutton or Macklin will be moving from quins as theyre both full contracts now, more than likely to Hinch. Quite a few first teamers leaving Deramore to Malone and Gannon and also a few retirements

Have quins signed anyone of note this year to replace those who are leaving?

Stuart Russell - Dromore to Banbridge - not a done deal yet. He's playing silly buggers over benefits

What are these benefits you talk off, sure they do not exist, ask any club man in Ulster and they will swear blind that they do not give any players benefits FACT

Ballynahinch could have a very good team next season, a lot of the 1st XV from Wallace that left have been asked to join, as far as I know, add Taylor and Caulfield to that list.

On a side note, surely James Simpson from Hinch should be given another shot at Ulster? Hinch also have a good blindside flanker, Madden I think hes called
Chris Henry is superhuman... I think he's half cyborg

Simpson is still in the academy AFAIK but wrecked his achilles a few weeks ago in training and is out until the new year.

Why anybody would want to sign Jake Caufiled is beyond me. Malone obviously making a real push for things although I doubt they will see much of Black or McComish but Henderson and Patton from City of Derry will be too solid signings, although a huge loss to COD who I imagined would have wanted to have a real crack at going up after finishing 4th or 5th last season. Banbridge supposedly bringing back a few old boys from other clubs.

Harlequins will have to go on a massive recruitment drive as it was obvious how much last season they relied on their Ulster players and having to fly 3 players back from England each week to play and if true about some players leaving for Dungannon it doesn't bode well for them.

Would like to see Armagh recruit well and have a real shot at promotion next season, great club who where in with an outside chance until their freak result at Ards.

I haven't heard anything on the Instonians front thus far, although I'm sure that I'll hear rumblings of signings at squad testing on Thursday night.

It's a shame to see Glen Telford retiring as he was a great servant to Dungannon.
