Why do they collect it? Because it is valuable. They are a business. You get the app for free and they sell on the data they have mined from you. That'their business model.

Me too, but that was a very different bit of software. It worked for starters...Wee Woman wrote:I got the app long before it went free.BR wrote:To the questions:

Meh, I caved in after reading the T&C's through again.
It appears that if you sign in using your Facebook or Twitter accounts then Tapatalk morphs into another version of Facebook looking to suck every last piece of personally identifiable / non personally identifiable data out of you, so I'm not linking my Facebook or Twitter accounts to the app.
They can make do with my e-mail address and I can unsubscribe from that, I get enough bloody spam mail as it is.
Needless to say the next upgrade will require log in through only Facebook or Twitter, you heard it here first .

Everyone gets so paranoid about apps. I like the new tappytalk and it didn't cost me a dime.

I tried the app, it's a bit of a pain to use, would rather just use my browser.
Every time I change a page I have to dismissed the damned thing again...twice. To get to making this post I have had to cancel the bloody thing 8/10 times. My iPad helpfully offers to block these regular notification but this virulent menace keeps ignoring the block instructions.
I've tried everything, even wondered my private browsing would make any difference but of course not.
Seriously pîssing me off. I've always disliked tapoybloodytalk, now I hate it.
Anyone else got this problem? Anyone got any answers! Suggestions even?
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Tappy talky is the most non user friendly app in Christendom. Only use it in extremis.
