I think you're probably right there Russ.

Re: Schools Cup 2015
That's an interesting statistic. I have not followed either team this year but surely a triumph of teamwork and spirit?

It would certainly appear so...don't know much about it either, I just got the info from the match programme and listening to Jim Neilly on the taped match...oh apart from the first bit which was taken from Beattiesfishsuppers earlier posts...isn't he the methody teacher?
Re: Schools Cup 2015
Wallace threw it away at the end, dominated the second half and had numerous penaltys which they opted for the corner rather than kick for goal when their line out wasn't operating well. Both of RBAI's try's came from poor missed indiviual tackles from Wallace which were punished.

Re: Schools Cup 2015
That's quite a good considered response and one that makes sense...all those who believed the hype around other 'teams' and 'players' would do well to listen to you...I for one, will...Once a Knight wrote:Matches at that level are usually won by the 7 weakest players on the team being better than the 7 weakest on the other team. All teams have 1 or 2 "stars" and all teams have 5 or 6 really solid players. It's the weaker players fulfilling adequately (or better) the role required by the team that wins matches.
That's just the dynamics of underage rugby and it's why schools with numbers like methody and inst have such an advantage as they have a better cast of supporting actors.
Anyway, it's over for this year. Moving on.

I wish a sincere speedy recovery to the young Down player who was taken off second half after a bad collision with Methodys loosehead. Great show from the Down lads.'
