... retires on medical grounds. Only 28. A very underrated player plagued by injuries his whole career. Fair play to him.

Absolute shame at 28 .Good luck in the future Felix. On a more positive note being 28 is quite a positive unlike the oil coffin dodgers (me included ) on this forum.

Too bad for the young fella.

When he first appeared at Leinster, I thought he was going to be a world class 15, but that first big knee injury did for him and he was never the same again.

I first watched him in that churchill cup that ireland tore everyone apart in where he was cutting lines Ben Smith would be proud of

I think he played in a great Ireland U20 backline that also included a centre pairing of Cave and Earls, and had Fionn Carr, the fastest thing on two legs, on the wing. Carr promised much at that stage but never quite delivered on his potential. If Felix had not been badly crocked early in his career you would never have heard of Rob Kearney (or Kearney would have remained a half decent wing - where he started.)

That's was a bit of a shocker today, he was in the 'nearly' group for the RWC too wasn't he?

Best of luck to the lad.

A pity but good to see him retire rather than end up crocked.

He was a player who had such fantastic potential but couldn't quite realise it due to injury after injury. Will be missed by Munster.

As our mutual friend says: I never want to see a young man crippled for my entertainment. Or words to that effect.
