IRFU succession policy - NIQs for 2017

Post by LegsLikeSausages »

Ruan and presumably Franco are leaving at the end of the season. Herbst and Ludik will be IQ. That means we should have 2 NIQ slots and a project slot. Ruan's departure has left me a little confused as to how we will be able to recruit in to different positions.

Do the NIQs have to be split equally ie 2 backs & 2 forwards?
Will we be allowed a project 9?
Will we be allowed another 2nd row having recently had Muller and FVDM?
Can we have another back row forward as well as Coetzee?

We definitely don't need any outside backs and if Herron progresses, we might not need a back up 10 either.

We need forwards (back row, second row, ?loose head) and a scrum half but how the hell is that going to fit in with Nucifora's idiotic policy?

Genuinely confused, please help.

Won't be allowed a 9 as Leinster have one, not much use but they have one anyway

Excluding Connacht there can only be 1 NIQ player per position so we can only recruit to fill the empty slots taking into account Leinster and Munster NIQ's.

Fecking stupid system if you can't actively recruit to fill a need. And if we are well stocked in the positions available to us it may be we dont even fill the slot at all...

So a prop and a second row then? Can we sign a project player 9?
You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

Nucibollocks thinks that if we have too many backs some should go to Munster and if they have too many forwards they should come here, that's fine if the guys think or want to play for Ireland alternativly they look to England or France and see the wages in which is a time limited sport and off they go, and that is where the horlix from Oz plans go down the pan but he won't give a feck as by the time the accountants in D4 have worked it out Irish rugby will be heading rapidly down the pan he will have his retirement package sorted.

Prepare to be very disappointed by our NIQ recruitment next season.

Ruckie, I have been pretty sure that we would be getting practically feck all next year anyway, the IRFU really seem to think give locals more time and they will become International class players while the Irish genetic pool does not really allow it to happen, the Irish as a race are not large people and any of the big guys in the squad are more genetic freaks than anything else.

We are stuffed by IRFU. All we can do is show our support to St Ruan. Ruan,Ruan chant from all at the 9th minute this Friday night and every 9 minutes after that.

Munster have Chisholm and Kleyn both 2nd rows..... do not see why we wouldn't be allowed Coetzee plus project player in the back row next year.
