That'll do me, I see the scrum dominated the Tahs in the second half and Hond was key when he came on - according to a report I read.

A prop who can do damage in the scrum will be a bonus/start.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Yup, I can see Jordie making it. Looks fairly comfortable already - how many fekkin Barretts are there?
Well if Smiley Barrett hadn't inherited farmland back in Rahota with all the associated tugs, they may have stayed here. Who knows.
The Kiwis and Afrikaans have the knack of line breeding elite 2nd generation & sibling players.
Beyond developing the Women's game alongside the men's, does Ulster Rugby even have a Breeding program in place?

HIghlanders were 41-24 behind with less than 5 mins on the clock and score 3 converted tries to win 45-41 away to the Cheetahs. Bonkers finish.

Jordie had a bash at taking lineout ball this weekend...

A very tough, physical match. Played with an intensity that the Lions will need to replicate.
Hats off to Scotty Robinson and his Crues outfit who played both sides of the football better on the night. They shut out the free scoring Canes with a defensive shift that would have had Andy Farrell purring, gained dominance in the set pieces at critical stages in the second half and made less handling errors.
The start to finish fitness levels of these NZ teams is STAGGERING.
The Canes are a very enterprising team but can't see Hanson sanctioning Jordie as an auxiliary jumper for the Blacks somehow!
Anyway not the sort of player you'd want in the middle of a forward maul..

I love the late footwork of the poly boys in the Kiwi teams.
Laumape is finding his feet this year with the Canes and developing his passing game. Against the Cheetahs he was given the space to run riot and provide assists for Aso.
Still don't think he has the passing precision (nearly butchered Aso's second try) or second five kicking game that he needs to be knocking on the AB door.
In his last season at the Warriors He played in the midfield alongside Solomone Kata. I felt their skill sets were too similar and as a combination they lacked passing vision.
Kata should follow Laumape into Union when his contract at Mt Smart ends.

Good to see Ben Smith back last night - one of the most complete players I've seen and a joy to watch. His ability to ride tackles is quite extraordinary at times. The quality of all the kiwi super teams has again been very high this season and if they have the ABs available there should be some cracking games against the Lions.

Lions seemed a bit lucky in their QF but they'll be hard to beat at home in SA. Crusaders kept a clean sheet V the highlanders is some appalling conditions which suited their pack whilst the Canes stuggled a bit over in Oz. Good to Dane Coles back and as explosive as ever. Chiefs were average against the Stormers. I'd have my money on a Lions V Crusaders final.

Lions v Canes should be a great match up on a dry pitch.
Coles v Marx is a fascinating sub plot.
The pressure will be on the home team to avenge the two spankings the Canes gave them last season. Even without Whiteley they are a light footed, dogged, craggy team to play against.
Jankjies is the African version of Madigan. Neat & short limbed with a limited tackle reach and under pressure, error prone with a flaky kicking game.
If the full strength Canes can match the Lions physically, then they have the slicker attack throughout their side to win by about two scores.

I think the Hurricane's will thrash the Lions. They were crap against the Sharks and scraped past. Only team not to face a NZ team all season. It'll be a step too far IMO.
