Last 7 results at Ravenhill/Spanners v Cardiff (MOST RECENT FIRST) : 35-22, 24-17, 36-17, 39-21, 37-13, 20-3, 32-13. During the same period, we have won in Cardiff 4 times 35-22, 26-9, 48-19, 37-15, giving a handsome return of 11 wins in the last 14 matches, and no defeats at home.

It is hard to conclude anything other than barring the Italian teams, Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadiff is the team that trouble us least in this league.

They are a veritable chopping block, hence I call on the sons of Ulster to take these apart once more on Friday night.

Some may point to their doughty display at RDS two weeks back, I will then point you in the direction of a desperately poor collapse at moderate Glaws last weekend having more or less dominated.

Some teams appear to "suit" a team better than others for no apparent reason, Cardiff are Ulster's bunnies, we own them, they reside on our mantlepiece, I predict a riot. :red:

Confirms it's on TV but doesn't elaborate, what a tease

Re the Gloucester game, it was 26-20 to Cardiff after 50 mins, 26-0 to Gloucester in last 30 mins.

They are stuck with Connacht in playoff limbo just waiting for regular season to end. May rotate their side after last week with the big Judgement Day event next week.

There are unconfirmed reports that Big Nick has an opt out clause re Ulster games...may be .

Should be a BP win

I have been hoping to see Rod vs Nick all year. First to get a yellow for a late hit with the best 'oops I didn't see you there' face wins a burger.

I remember him saying before he left Ulster that he wouldn't play against Ulster because he wouldn't hurt his friends.

I hope he's a man of his word.

Pitch firming up, fair weather predicted (by me), proper Friday night game, one of what may be our last two home games and my guess is you'd need to be an exile not to be in Spanners come Tea Time Friday. The thought of it is already disturbing my sleep as I anticipate a slaughter.

There will be the usual scraping a pack together. 9/10 require no discussion. The return of big Stu, Ludik and AAT leaves a dilemma. We could field two tasty backlines. There are good players going head to head:

Stockdale/Trimble
Wee/big Stu
Cave/Luke
Piutau/Gilroy
Payne/Ludik

Personally I'd like to see the players on the left Ludik and big Stu on the bench. Munster wouldn't take any of those guys and we are shyte but hopefully Les won't fcuk it up.

Yep. If he gets a few games under his belt, he could be the future at No.8 for seasons to come.

Time to put Piutau and McCloskey into the back row.
