BACK AGAIN FOR ANOTHER SEASON OF POINTLESS COMPETITION AND BANTER!

As we start the season with absolutely no idea what sort of Ulster team we'll be able to field and with very little to look forward to but another year of disappointment and mediocrity why don't you spice your weekends up by joining our predictions competitions. There will be separate competitions for the newly expanded Pro 14 and the Super-duper better-than-ever not-quite-the-Heineken Cup and if the whim takes me I may even run one for the Six Nations.

The first two rounds of the Pro 14 are now open for your predictions to give you plenty of time to analyse the teams and their prospects and make your picks for the first round.

So it's welcome back to all our returning players and if you haven't played before why not join in the fun. It's free!

Register and Enter your predictions here

The first round closes at 7:35pm on Friday 1st September

BACK AGAIN FOR ANOTHER SEASON OF POINTLESS COMPETITION AND BANTER!

Well that was surprisingly pleasing for a first match. Six tries and a convincing win with some entertaining play thrown into the mix.

The first leader of the predictions league is Malcolm followed by last years seasoned predictors Loki KT in second and Scrumtogether in third.

It is of course very early in the season and not in any way too late to join. even a 90 point deficit can be made up very quickly. So if you haven't joined yet, or if you missed the first week of predictions pull up a computer or tablet and get going. The more the merrier!

Round 2 is now open for predictions and I'll be adding round 3 just as soon as the publish the match times for all the matches.

Round 2 closes at 7:35pm on Friday 8th September

great start - thought I had sent my predictions in for first round of games about a fortnight ago but must have pressed wrong button. :( Might be a short predictions league for me this year but will try again this week! In fact will do them today (Monday) so please let me know if not received within the next hour.

Mike - I can't see anyone's predictions or even if they have or haven't predicted. It all goes straight into a database. But if you look at the menu bar after you have pressed "save" you should see the words "Predictions Inserted: 7>" at the top right which will confirm that your predictions have been accepted.

well pressed the save button once this morning and have just done so twice again but nothing to say Predictions inserted that I can see. I can be a real dunce at computers a lot of the time. Will see what happens this week!

Didn't take long for Ulster to revert to type in Italy. When will our coaches learn that we always struggle there and that we need to pick up all the bonus points we can so sending a weakened team without a strong bench is a mistake?

The predictions league is starting to look a bit more familiar this week too as our first round leader slips back to 6th only to be replaced by Loki KT, Kraggie and scrumtogether in the top three.

It is, of course, still very early in the season and not in any way too late to join. Even a three figure deficit can be made up very quickly. So if you haven't joined yet, or if you missed the first two weeks of predictions pull up a computer or tablet and get going. The more the merrier!

Rounds 3 and 4 are now open for predictions.

Well I didn't see that coming. We actually played above the sum of our parts and claimed an unexpected win over last years champions.

In the predictions league it is still Loki KT and Kraggie first and second with Pauline nudging Scrumtogether down into 4th.

It is, of course, still very early in the season and not in any way too late to join. Even a three figure deficit can be made up very quickly. So if you haven't joined yet, or if you missed the first three weeks of predictions pull up a computer or tablet and get going. The more the merrier!
