The Irish Language - Lets try & learn one word a week.

The dismal performance and lack of consistency of this thread since its creation, completely at odds with its title, encourages me to propose an alternative thread on "Lets learn one word of Esperanto per week."
At least the odds of stumbling across a fellow speaker would be higher

My point is that all of these factors do not produce a person who converses in Irish. In modern times
They at best produce a person who wants everybody else to read and speak Irish and wants folks to drive around reading Irish road signs!

And want everybody else to pay for it!

Irish Speakers do exist but many or most would be limited Street names and the National anthem

Whilst it is a language of myth and romance most of those who advocate for it do so not so much for the language but as an in your face provocation .

In my view Ulster/ scotch is not so much a language as words unique to the nine counties to describe feelings and conditions experienced

It is not that I am against the Irish language but it’s use in public is basically racist since it is not the common language of those present

It will soon be the law if 'Gerry wasn't in the ira Sein Fenn' have their way. The Irish language is gobbledegook nonsense. If the oirish hate the English so much why do they continue to speak their language. Plenty of others exist.

The brits are so dense they cannae even spake it proper. Ulster Scots loyalists at least make easy to spoke their joke accent/dialect.

Time for a language act? Time for a referendum. Option C will be to nuke the goddam whole island. At least we wouldn't have to worry about the academy producing forwards. I'm sure Vladimir would like the target practice.

I can't think of anything more irrelevant than this thread on a supposedly rugby supporters forum.
Almost as irrelevant as that t***'er who waves the Japanese flag at Ulster rugby games, within spitting distance of the War Memorial . There are people in the crowd whose fathers and grandfathers were killed fighting this flag.
