Can any of you experts shed any light on how I can attach photos to posts on the MB?

if the photos are already on the web somewhere, then you can put the full url of the image in the body of the message, and then highlight it. Click the Img button and voila, the img will appear in a message.

If the photo is on you machine, then you can't, without uploading it to some webspace first.
