Tow bar and Trailer
Thinking of getting tow bar added to my wee Susuki Alto and then buying a small trailer. 2 issues arise.
A) Where is the cheapest place in the greater Belfast/Ballymena/Holywood area to get a tow bar added to a car?
B) Is anyone here disposing of an unwanted but roadworthy trailer that they would like collected?
Ponder and discuss. No rush.

It's the downhills that frighten me. When your recycling overtakes you on the way.HwoodMike2umate wrote:Well its largely downhill from my house to the dump/recycle depot in Holywood and trailer will be empty on the way back home.

In theory, a Suzuki Alto can legally tow up to 750kg (or 85% of kerb weight).
I got a towbar fitted by David Murphy, Belfast Road, Carryduff. Tell your insurance company.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Is this anything to do with HWM's Alliance chums on the City council planning to cut black bin collections to once a month?BaggyTrousers wrote:Superb mental picture, especially Mike's "Mayor of Hiroshima"BR wrote:It's the downhills that frighten me. The published manufacturer's spec seems to be 200kg braked/100kg unbraked.big mervyn wrote:In theory, a Suzuki Alto can legally tow up to 750kg (or 85% of kerb weight).

Re: Tow bar and Trailer
I would assume not. You're not suggesting that Mike is living in Belfast, but taking his waste to North Down and Ards for them to dispose of it?big mervyn wrote:Is this anything to do with HWM's Alliance chums on the City council planning to cut black bin collections to once a month?BaggyTrousers wrote:Superb mental picture, especially Mike's "Mayor of Hiroshima"BR wrote:It's the downhills that frighten me. Can we not make an exception to the moving on ban in Michael's particular case?Dave wrote:Hope this trailer isn't for moving on purposes?

200kg, that's not much use, I wouldn't consider anything under 25 000kg useful.BR wrote:The published manufacturer's spec seems to be 200kg braked/100kg unbraked.big mervyn wrote:In theory, a Suzuki Alto can legally tow up to 750kg (or 85% of kerb weight).
