Very few rugby biographies are up to much. They don't have a lot to say other than the usual guff. Brian Moore's "beware of the dog" is the one exception its a great read. 1F, BOD and ROG were all trash unless you're a real fan boy. Haskell's book didn't match the hype either. It was readable, but I was expecting it to be funnier and more revealing. Can't see Willie's book having anything we haven't heard before either.

Have read Willie's story and can recommend purely as a human interest story rather than a rugby book. The Argentina tale, the battle with drink and personal tradegy are all told in engaging and open matter which go beyond the usual sports biography.

Totally agree Jean read it back in September when it was launched and posted my take on it on What are you reading thread.
