Re: Contract Situation
A great opportunity to showcase his skills. He will sadly not be curtailed by international appearances. Good luck, PJ.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Re: Contract Situation
Things probably aligned- international standard FH available now and no RWC to get in the way or precipitate injury/ form/ fatigueBobbievee wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 11:33 am1 year contract per Daily TelegraphDave wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 12:31 pmHe's had to work his way back up to this point. Perpignan to LI and now (if true) a top European side. He could pocket a few mill now and retire into the French countryside or the burbs of London.Dharper wrote:If true, Lyon must be laughing. Top class 10, probably at a discounted rate. Would be interesting to see length of contract.
Funny how things work out….PJ Will likely have a far more interesting career than most - international…than pro14, France, England, France. Likely another 4/5 decent yrs left in him maybe more if he takes care of himself.

Re: Contract Situation
I really hope this stint in France goes better than the last one, if I'm reading things correctly. SO seems to have settled much better than Paddy did with Perpignan.
Re: Contract Situation
To be fair:
Perpignan were a bit Pooh, and were the league whipping boys.
PJ was playing at 15 a decent amount.
Brive unlike Perpignan had a small irish contingent.
Probably all played a part.
Hopefully he can showcase his stuff in the euro cup against an Irish side.

Also, Paddy struggled more than the others mentally with the false accusations and surrounding circus, and found isolation in France very very difficult.
Re: Contract Situation
All the bile of of the Madame Defarge's of Ireland was directed at Paddy Jackson after a case which should never have gone to court because of the evidence of an eye witness whose every action confirmed her evidence == walked in --saw-- walked out --stated what she saw went down stairs -got in a taxi and left her friend-- in a House -- if the accuser is to be believed -- with four rampant rapists.
While the accuser -- leaves the house only to go back in --up to the room where, if she is to be believed , she was raped by two men -- to get her phone and then gets in taxi with --the rapist's best friend.
And the police run around looking for circumstantial evidence from persons who were never in Paddy Jackson's house to substantiate her ever changing story of events.
You couldn't make it up it's the stuff of nightmares !!!!! because to defend your self costs the best part of 1/2 a million .
And the the gutless wonders of Ulster management with DR4 rip up your future when faced with the only possible verdict of innocent .
So you sign for a team in France starting its first season in the TOP14 which lacks a pack to provide possession .
More nightmares
At least this time he is joining a team with a track record in the T14.

Re: Contract Situation
The show keeps goingHawies Fourie has confirmed that Ruan Pienaar has signed a new contract with the Cheetahs to extend his playing career for one more year.
It had been reported that Pienaar would be hanging up his boots at the end of the season, having helped the Cheetahs into the Currie Cup final.
However, during a press conference ahead of the final against the Pumas, Cheetahs coach Fourie confirmed that the veteran playmaker will give the Bloemfontein side another year.
The new contract will take the 39-year-old into the 20th year of his professional rugby career, which began back in 2004 with the Sharks.

Henderson has signed a 2 year extension to his central contract.

Speaking of contracts the Director General of RTE, Dee Forbes has been suspended after allegations that she paid Ryan Tubridy €345k under the table. Curiously she is also a Director of Munster Rugby. I wonder did she work any monetary magic under the table in Limerick.
Re: Contract Situation
You’d imagine she’d be removed from any decision making at Munster Rugby while that’s being looked into…..not a great look.Jetstream wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 5:41 am Speaking of contracts the Director General of RTE, Dee Forbes has been suspended after allegations that she paid Ryan Tubridy €345k under the table.
