Leinster injury update - no Sexton, Conan, Kearney and Ryan for weekend.

Whiskey Malone RFC and Connors are on the maybe list.

Then there is the unknown element of Irish players being rested etc.

I'd love to see our strongest XV possible for this match. Leinster won't have most if not all of their Ireland players available so will be forced to play their seconds. We on the other hand will have only 1 player maximum lost to Ireland duties. It's as good an opportunity as we have had in ages to go and get a scalp, and a result like that could really shape our season in a positive way going forwards. The gamble of course is if we do that and still get hoked, which would be pretty demoralising.

Leinster will certainly have weaknesses across the park with the loss of their Ireland contingent, in particular in the front 5. Their second string back row is still better than our first string back row unfortunately.

It was almost a leinster 2nd string that tanked us at ravenhill last year. Warwick got a red of course but we wouldn't have won anyway. Hopefully we get all our ireland squad members available bar Henderson. After the connacht game we are owed a performance.

Iain Henderson suffered a hamstring injury during the warm-up for Ireland’s Autumn Nations Series game against Argentina on Sunday.

He joins the following players on the current injury list:

Will Addison (lower leg)

Cormac Izuchukwu (knee)

Jack McGrath (hip)

Luke Marshall (knee)

Jordi Murphy (knee)

Jacob Stockdale (ankle)

Ben Moxham (groin)

It sounds like McFarland is going to rest the Ireland contingent even though he confirmed none of them are required to be rested. That sounds like he has accepted this is a game to approach more in hope than expectation i.e. we are going down well lubed up.

They probably don’t have to be rested this game, but if they play this game then they will miss another game…… a more winnable game!!

Starting on Saturday, this is the 1st of 10 games on consecutive weekends:

Sat 27/11 Leinster, Sat 4/12 Ospreys, Sat 11/12 Clermont, Fri 17/12 SAINTS, Sun 26/12 CONNACHT, Sat 1/1 LEINSTER, Sat 8/1 Munster, Sun 16/1 Saints, Sat 22/1 CLERMONT, Fri-Sun 28-30/1 SCARLETS.

Tough schedule, could see the kids being sent to Limerick. The European format this year mean only the team finishing last in the Heineken Pool misses out on knockout rugby after January (1-8 into H Cup, 9-11 into Parker Pen).

Leinster's Samoan International prop at Twickenham on Saturday, so he will not be involved.

As is Jack Dunne who has been playing AIL recently to get him match fit.

They are missing a good few, to say the least.
