Genge was very vocal during the salary cutting exercise last year, he said he had no loyalty to the club, so hardly a surprise when he has been openly asking for details of land for sale near Bristol for months. We have enjoyed him being here, didn't miss him during the Autumn Internationals and have props in line to replace him, due to requirement to lower our overall salary to fit the lower cap next year, that job has now been done I guess.jean valjean wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:48 pmTiger whats the verdict on genges news? Seems a bit out of the blue considering he was made captain and a key part of an improving team.tigerburnie wrote:Salarysins cry off due to covid this weekend, probably won't be the only ones

Genge has apparently taken a significant pay cut to go to Bristol, so not a money thing. Tigers non salary cap player next season will probably be Handre Pollard.
Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22 Other Sides
He may have been offered less to stay at Leicester though!
Baxter has been saying that the penny hasn’t really dropped over in England that salary cuts will be required due to the salary cap being cut.

Making him captain gave him a pay rise, he just seems to want to go home.

French teams not travelling to GB this weekend
Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22 Other Sides
Saturday's matches between GB and French teams (either in GB or France) are being postponed.
So not the 28-0 that was previously applied. MHR v Leinster still a 28-0 walk-over though.
I may see what's happening on the babbling brook.

Ospreys forfeited this morning before the announcement, 28-0 win to R92.

Not tenable to punish Leinster while everyone else gets a draw result.

Why?
The team specific Covid outbreaks and the games affected by the French travel restrictions are separate issues.

Natural justice would suggest it is very unfair though. Looks as if this years half ar$ed competition is turning into aniother shambles. 2nd rnd in and deja vu all over again

I think that after the debacle of the final F1 race of the season and the investigation that FIA are carrying out, European Rugby are anticipating that Michael Masi will be getting the chop, and they're attempting to lure him in. They want to show that there's another sport that can make things up as they bumble along and demonstrate to him that there's maybe a future for him in rugby.

I reckon they will scrap the home and away last 16 and go for a straight knock out if they need to squeeze games in. All the more reason to kick on and get into the top 4 as that could guarantee home games to at least the semis.

Watching Glasgow v Exeter. If I was at the match I'd be asking for my money back. It's so foggy you can't even tell who is who. I can see this being abandoned.
