Doesnt seem like a big turnout.

May actually favour the centrist parties on this occasion,

My prediction is Shinners to top the poll by 1 with advances for the alliance and greens.
Dup to offer Alex Easton a ministerial role to rejoin and subsequently balance the numbers.

Elly Odhiambo in S Belfast from Kenya
Sipho Sabanda in S Belfast from Zimbabwe
Kate Nicholl in S Belfast from Zimbabwe

Looks like the African vote is going to be seriously split.

Anyone know of any other non-native NI folk standing? A few more might help us expand our thinking a wee bit.
Our Kenyan friend hasn't fared well. Bottom of the poll with just 107 votes.

Of the Zimbabwean contingent Sipho did slightly better with 629 and Kate Nicholl is very much in the mix with 5201 1st preferences lying in 5th.

A teeny weeny first step to becoming a multi-cultural community

There's a wierd situation in Mid-Ulster with Conor Rafferty of the Resume Party. Seemingly he pulled out of the election early on Thursday morning, after the polls had opened. The Resume Party website is a classic example of how to say absolutely nothing: https://www.resumeparty.org/ . As the first online political party, it was unable to produce any election literature on time, hence Rafferty's withdrawal. He did get 13 first preference votes.

Watching the BBC local election coverage. John Finucane talking about local issues and everyday life and making the DUP look like utter chubes. SF are probably pretty happy taking the moral high ground and allowing the DUP to thrash around and keep the Executive dysfunctional. Newton Emerson talking sense.

Mark Carruthers: 'I don't want to open a honet's nest...' Yeah, right.

I used to be friendly with Newt when he was editor of the Portadown News. Shame that Máirtín Ó Muilleoir outed him and forced him into the mainstream.

Saw a clip of Máirtín at a count centre last night.
Had a mullet and an earring. He was always a bit out there but he looked like a total spaz last night.

So shinners happy, dupers not happy. Shinners vs dupers trial by combat to declare a winner, who says no?

Bare belly’s outside Stormont. £5 a ticket to see Jeffrey get his slimy teeth kicked in. We would raise a fortune for good causes.
