It was Quinton Immelman who was the TMO for Stormers game for info.

The Munster squad are stepping up their training this week at the HPC ahead of the province’s URC quarter-final against Ulster in Belfast on Friday (7.35pm).

Jean Kleyn and Neil Cronin return to training this week after overcoming respective neck and ankle injuries. There’s also good news for Tadhg Beirne who steps up his training load after rehabbing a thigh injury since the Six Nations campaign. His availability will be determined later in the week.
Andrew Conway’s availability will also be reviewed as the week advances following a knee aggravation sustained against Leinster. Alex Kendellen is due to complete the return to play protocols this week.

Continuing to rehab: Dave Kilcoyne (neck), RG Snyman (knee) John Hodnett (knee), Jack Daly (knee).

Bad news for us. Peyper allows a free for all at the ruck and with bierne and POM back that spells problems. Ulster should get practising the hands / elbows beyond the ball jackel technique as it will be allowed all night.

Hopefully Murray will start and slow down their ball without us having to do it for them.

Bookies presently have Ulster narrow (3point) favourites. I'm a bit surprised at that - we should be more or less full power and our record at Ravenhill is pretty good (albeit with a notable blip versus Munster!).

I expect an almost fully loaded munster bar kilcoyne so this will be a tough game. Ulster without lowry means our spark of inspiration in the backs diminishes somewhat. Stu and Hume were very flat in the last game against munster and I expect a much better performance from them both. For all the flack burns gets he is essential to getting our team moving correctly which will hopefully make a difference on the night.

Don’t forget what happened at 9 too.

John was comfortably second best against the diminutive Casey but was much more like himself against Sharks. His trail lines and cover tackling indicated that he had full confidence in his body for perhaps the first time this season.

The effect of this will be magnified, of course, if Munster go with the ponderous Murray.

Ulster coach Dan McFarland says Marty Moore won't play again this season after suffering 'a couple of concussions'. Medical advice is that he's stood down for a period.

Mike Lowry not being ruled out of the Munster game at this point after suffering facial injuries against the Sharks.

Huge set back re Moore. He will be sorely missed particularly at this crucial time of the season but you can't mess about with concussion. Having been a vocal critic of TOT, I did voice some hope that he would come of age in the game against the Sharks and he mostly delivered. He anchored the scrum well and contributed strongly in open field play on both sides of the ball so if he can continue that trajectory, there is cause for optimism that the loss of Marty wont be the end of the world, at least until TOT has to be subbed. We would want to be a few scores ahead by that point in time.

So does Lowry really have a shot at playing or is Dan just keeping Munster guessing or both?

Without Stockdale and Addison he will be giving every chance.

If he has a broken/fractured cheekbone, Munster will smash his face at the breakdown and tackle at every opportunity.

Id put my £5bet on Lyttle.
